Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. - Matthew 7:13-15
The Holy Spirit will never guide or contradict the Holy Scripture that is the Word of God. If any contradiction exists, it is most likely the doctrine and traditions of men, and not of God. And not the real Jesus Christ, but a false and anti-Christ.
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. - Mark 7:7-9
(Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? - Colossians 2:21-22
There is a growing trend of late to trust traditions of mere religion; instead of placing one's full faith and trust in the full Gospel and teaching of the Word of God. As is there is a growing trend to place one's faith in Jesus Christ for salvation as Savior; but not as Lord. (I highly and strongly suggest that you turn your studies to the "difference"). The vast problem this incurs is that often, one puts one's trust in the "god of their understanding", which often is not the God of the Bible or Holy Scriptures. Such is Idolatry. For if we loose sight of the fundamental infallibility of scripture, if one trusts not in the Full Gospel and perfect truth of God's Word; can such faith save him? Or You? As God himself has enlightened me and revealed to me; no dear reader, no it cannot. For faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, and faith in the Holy Word of God go hand in hand. All of God's Word.
Such is just the beginning of true saving faith. And a faith where the "channel" remains; unbroken.
We strongly urge you to read your Bibles daily, and to meditate on God's Word.
As to translations. Having trouble with the King's English? The King James is very good, but the New American Standard is far superior, and the most accurate translation from the original Greek. God's Word does not change. The original Greek and Hebrew. But the English language has, for almost 500 years have passed since the King James was translated. Get the New American Standard. The two remaining alternates would be the modern NLT New Living Translation, and the Amplified Bible.
