What is truth?
The greatest question that has ever been asked by mankind; placed to Our Lord Jesus Christ by Pontius Pilate in the book of John chapter 18 verse 38.
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all . - John 18:37-38
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6 (KJV)
Such great irony: that perfect truth stood perhaps just 7 feet away from Pontius Pilate, and yet he was still blinded by it and could not see. But then again from scripture He did make the seeing blind, and the blind to see.
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. - John 9:39 (KJV)
What is Truth?
Truth is a representation of things as they really are. A fact, a certainty. An accurate infallible revelation. Truth is the inspired word of God.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: - II Timothy 3:16
Dear reader, when is it then that truth becomes a lie? When the scripture, the Holy word of God becomes twisted and given a different meaning.
True, there are great depths to God's written word, and one can study a lifetime and not fully grasp all that is there. However, on the other hand "or should I say wing"; God has breathed or inspired His word so that all can grasp the basic elements of salvation. An example of which:
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. - Revelation 3:5
In the words of Jesus Christ to the church at Sardis, he that overcomes will not be blotted out of the Book of Life. In the Book of Revelation and of the Spirit to the Seven Churches: Let Him That Has An Ear Hear. For what applied to the seven churches then, applies to all of the church, or Christians today.
The church at Sardis, although having all the physical signs of being an alive and growing assembly, was actually spiritually dead. (Rev. 3:1). This was perhaps due to false teaching that infiltrated the church, or due to their lack of obedience to scripture. Or their lack of love.
Be not deceived beloved: What happened then can and has happened today. The Book of Life, is the book where the names of all saved on earth are recorded.
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. - Revelation John 3:4

There where a few in Sardis that had not defiled their garments of white, however those that had, would be clothed if they OVERCAME , and would not have their names BLOTTED OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE. You don't get into the book of Life unless you have accepted Jesus Christ.
There are many that teach today the false doctrine of "once saved always saved" or a twisted version of "security of the believer". What part of blot out don't they understand? It is simple enough. They attempt to twist scripture, and say that is not what it means. Many attempt to confuse and twist the scripture with the statement that there are two books, the Book of Life, and the Lamb's Book of Life. And I wish not to debate this at this time, however I would like to leave you with this thought...who in the above scripture from Revelation 3:5 is talking? JESUS CHRIST - THE LAMB OF GOD! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Lamb is talking in reference to His Book. A book that He possesses, and that He can erase or blot out of.
Dear reader, if you are a member of a church, congregation or assembly that holds these false doctrines true; flee from it. Flee from false teaching. As a preacher and minister of God and our Lord Jesus Christ, God has inspired me to have you return to the truth. And follow our Lord Jesus Christ. Find an assembly that is solid and strong in Bible scripture, a full gospel assembly, with a pastor that stands for the word of God. I will admit, sometimes it is not an easy task sometimes, but they are out there; seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened for you. ( By a full gospel assembly, one where the spiritual gifts are present and active and being taught. An assembly where God is moving within it. And one grounded fully in the word.) How will you know that they are solid in the word? By reading it. All of it. Study to show yourself approved unto God.
But then again, your life depends on it, doesn't it? Having problems with the thee's and thou's of the King's English? I strongly recommend the New American Standard version for a literal word for word translation, or for the dynamic thought for thought method, the New Living Translation. An excellent alternative would be the Amplified Bible, although a bit hard for some. But then again many wrestle with all scripture.
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. - Ezekiel 22:30
My Lord; as your Servant, I stand in that gap. As I always have. You have led me and taught me truly how to increase, increase my knowledge, my wisdom, my faith, and above all my capacity to love. And the greatest of these is Love. Glory and praise to God the Father and my Lord Jesus Christ, forever and forever. Amen

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. - II Peter 2:1-2
Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter; Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not. - Zechariah 11:4
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it , to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. - II Peter 2:20-22
Many that discount the two above verses, of which there are many throughout the New Testament; usually reply in defense with this verse:
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. - John 10:27-28
They forget that the follow me part of the verse. And the any man part. How is this viewed in light of:
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. - John 15:1-2
To be IN CHRIST is to be saved, for you cannot be in Christ and lost. And those that bear no fruit, or that stop bearing fruit, GOD THE FATHER takes away. And what of them that cease to follow Him? Perhaps they have ceased to hear His still small voice.
Is it not outstanding how perfect God's word is?
Now just a few scripture "nuggets of truth" in closing. So be not deceived:
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. - Ephesians 5:5
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. - Galatians 5:18-21
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. - Revelation 21:8
So dear reader, what then is truth?
The perfect and Holy Word of God.

"Revival". Of a Holy Nation. Revival. Vital "ReBreath". The order of the day.
